MEET WHITNEY

  • Whitney was appointed Circuit Judge for the 50th Circuit after the untimely passing of Judge Dotson.                    

  • The 50th Circuit includes Boyle & Mercer County.                                    

  • Since her appointment, Judge Johns has rapidly expanded Drug Court and worked to increase community engagement with the court.

  • Years of experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney, city attorney, and civil litigator.                                                                    

  • Practiced at every level of the state court system.                                                          

  • Successfully argued in front of the Kentucky Court of Appeals and   Supreme Court.                                             

  • Americorps Alumni.                                    

  • Former member, Kentucky Commission on Women.

Family

  • Whitney is married to James and the mother to two daughters (17 & 11) and a son (7).                                   

  • Her children are active in the Mercer and Burgin School Districts, participating in a variety of sports and 4H.                      

  • The Johns family lives on a small farm in Mercer County, where they raise sheep.
